Lacto Calamine Oil Control: A review

With my last review on Lacto Calamine, you must have realized that it is a must have product for me.  I have been using the Classic pink all these years and now the brand has come up with two more variations, one for dry skin and one for oily skin that promises oil control for your skin.

Today, will be reviewing Lacto Calamine Oil Control. Since I have very oily skin, I thought of giving this product a try. However, the classic version also fairly helps the control the oil production all throughout the day. I just wanted to see what different does this version has to do.

Price:-

45 for 30 ml

Product Claims:-

Daily nourishing lotion for Oil Control and maintaining skin vitality with the goodness of Kaolin and Glycerin

Directions to use:

Shake well before use

Must be used before 5 years from the date of manufacturing

Ingredient list:

Aqua, light Kaolin, castor oil, Glycerin, Zinc Oxide, Zinc carbonate, Emulsifiers, Preservatives, Perfumes and permitted colours

Packaging:

The product comes in a translucent bottle with purple color screw top. Like the Classic version, even Lacto Calamine Oil Control comes in varied sizes offering you an option to choose from. The screw top has to be tightly closed in order to prevent leakage of the product.
It is travel friendy and can be easily carried in bag. The 30 ml bottle can be slipped easily into your vanity bag and can be travelled anywhere. Lacto Calamine has thick consistency which doesn’t leak so easily and 30ml pack comes a long way since you requires only little amount of the product each time.

My experience of using Lacto Calamine Oil Control:

I have always loved using Lacto Calamine since day 1. But this is my first experience with Lacto Calamine Oil Control. To be frank after using the Oil control version, I didn’t find any major difference in them. Both of them more or less give the same effect.

Lacto Calamine Oil Control works in a similar way as it classic counterfeit. It gives a matt effect after application and really helps to control oil production. The product claims to maintain skin’s pH balance.
The ingredient list of Lacto Calamine Oil Control is also exactly same. I just don’t understand why they had to create this variant or is this an advanced version of Lacto Calamine Classic. If it is an advanced version then there should have been some kind of changes in it. May be the company has decided to change the packaging and given it a new tagline. I think the latter might be true.

Like Lacto Calamine Classic even Lacto Calamine Oil Control doesn’t work to reduce my acne spots, nor does it prevents acne. It just soothes any fresh acne and prevents them from getting worse that’s it.

The fragrance of Lacto Calamine Oil Control is bit stronger than the Classic variant but seems to be same at first.  The fragrance lingers around for some time after application and then fades out.
The lotion is light pink colored and has thick creamy consistency and works well as a tinted moisturizer. It blends on to your skin evenly and easily without leaving behind and trails or marks. You will notice a matty glow on your face immediately after application. People with dark wheatish or dark skin tone must avoid using Lacto Clamine as it can leave behind a whitish cast on your skin. Even if you prefer using it then use it as night cream as it helps to prevent the oiliness of your skin after regular usage.

Yays of Lacto Calamine Classic:

  • Non greasy moisturizer
  • Excellent product for oily skin
  • Smoothly absorbs into your skin
  • Prevents oily look on your skin
  • Priced reasonably

Nays of Lacto Calamine Classic:

It is just perfect for me hence no Cons.

Would I buy Lacto Calamine Classic again?

Well, I still am confused as to why have the brand introduced a variant with no additional feature. Nevertheless, I have loved this varied as well. Actually I love the packaging and its color combination. So I might surely buy it as it works great on my very oily skin.

  2. If ur skin gets oily on the t zone then you have oily skin.. If ur skin gets patchy and dry and you need to moistourize it often then your's is a dry skin.. If you dont experience any of the two things then you are lucky to have normal skin.. For normal to dry skin tones lacto calamine with aloe extracts work great.. And for oily skin types the regular one works perfect
